Today is the Day of Our Holy Founder: St. Vincent Pallotti.
We started the preparations on Sunday, with a solemn Mass at noon celebrated at our church of Mary the Queen of the Apostles, during which seven children received the Sacrament of Baptism.
Yesterday evening we entered into a time of a more direct preparation to the Feast of our Founder by singing together Vespers in Latin; the Schola Gregoriana, guided by Fr. Dariusz Smolarek SAC, led the prayer, and Fr. Mirosław Mejzner SAC, the Rector of our Seminary, presided.
This day is a day not only of solemn celebrations, but also of joy; hence, at 8 p.m. we played together in a so-called bingo. It was quite a big event as for our small community, organized in the Theatre Hall by the 2nd and 3rd year’s seminarians.
Today we also had a solemn Holy Mass, this one presided by Father Provincial Zenon Hanas SAC, the High Superior of the Christ the King Province. In his sermon he recalled the concrete ways in which the love of Pallotti manifested, even in the turbulent time of his life, that can be an inspiration for ourselves presently.
One of the priests living here had his namesday today – Fr. Anastazy Bławat SAC. Since that, he was given an opportunity to say his life’s testimony at the Vespers.
In the evening, we gathered once more in the Seminary’s chapel to spend some time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament as well as with Pallotti, whose relics we possess here, and his texts. At the end, each of us received a personal blessing with the Blessed Sacrament and was allowed to kiss St. Vincent’s relics.
